Welcome Letter in Spanish

Dear Compass-Midtown Families,

Welcome to a brand new school year at Compass-Midtown! We are excited to welcome our students and families—both returning and new—to another year of learning, growth, and discovery.

At Compass-Midtown,  located in the heart of Midtown Memphis, our mission is clear: to prepare students to be agents of change in our world. Every decision we make—from our academic offerings to our extracurricular programs—is grounded in that purpose. We believe in empowering students not only with knowledge, but also with the skills, values, and confidence they need to shape a better future.

As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, we are proud to continue offering a rigorous academic curriculum that challenges and inspires our students. Our commitment to excellence in education ensures that every learner is equipped for college, career, and life beyond the classroom.

In alignment with our Mission and Vision to prepare our students to be agents of change, we’re also thrilled to share our new Career Technical Pathways. This year, we are launching two dynamic new programs in Construction and Culinary Arts. These pathways are designed to provide students with hands-on, real-world experiences and the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications. Whether building a future in the skilled trades or mastering the art of the kitchen, our students will graduate with meaningful skills and career options.

As always, our dedicated educators and staff are here to support your child’s journey. We encourage you to stay connected with us through regular communication, school events, and parent engagement opportunities.

Thank you for choosing Compass Midtown. We are honored to partner with you in preparing the next generation of changemakers.

Let’s make this school year our best one yet!

Beyond the Classroom

Compass Midtown offers a structured weekly student Social-Emotional Learning, Value-Based Character Education, and Service Learning structure entitled, " Compass Midtown Houses" that is unique to the students enrolled at Compass Midtown. Students are engaged in weekly group meeting sessions instructed by Compass Midtown faculty that support the whole child and support positive student culture.

Curriculum

Our goal is to equip students with the tools they need for success in college, and beyond. As a charter school, we have the freedom to select a curriculum that allows us to do just that. We utilize Carnegie Math, Study Sync for English and McGraw Hill for Science and Social Studies.

Sports

We believe a world-class education is more than just academics. That is why we make sure extracurricular activities are available to all of our students. We offer volleyball for girls, track & field & cross country for boys & girls, and basketball and soccer for boys.

Our Team

Passion for Teaching

Compass teachers know their content backward and forwards and are passionate about preparing Memphis youth academically and in character for college and lifelong success. Our teachers enjoy and benefit from our intentionally small school settings, which will help them to develop trusting, positive relationships with their students and colleagues.

Service Learning

In the Community

Service learning serves as the intersection of our academic excellence and values-based character education pillars—bringing content, concepts, and skills gleaned from both to life through hands-on, tangible experiences. Service-learning projects provide students with opportunities to apply newly learned knowledge and skills in real-world contexts, further cementing their understanding and giving their academic learning relevant purposes.
